Jumped the gun - update

She is quite bad again today. Limp, hiding in corners. She seems drugged she is so still. I know it can take 3-6 weeks to recover but I feel like I am losing her.
Oh boy. Last week was tough. This week is tough. I am tired, people.

Anyone had a recovering cat at home? Do they sometimes just get really quiet but still recover?

Thank you. I did call after your urging. They asked if she was eating anything. Yes. So she is totally lethargic. yes, except if I wiggle her mouse in front of her, then she slowly lifts her paw to kill it. I just gave her some real food then I added some of the liquid food stuff - too quickly - and she was gave me a preview of baby vomitorium!

The vet will call again tonight but they are "not worried"

OK this is the last post about my cat. This is not a cat blog. It's an IF blog and I am very grateful for your indulgence. Periodic update (hopefully "she's doing better") but that's it.

thanks again.

  3. I really don't know. I don't have answers, I can only suggest calling the vet to see what they think. Is she eating today? Is she drinking enough fluids? What is her poo like? These are the things I guess I would look for. I'm sorry she isn't getting better so quickly. Keeping you in my thoughts.

  4. Oh, poor kitty. (And so sorry, you...) I would definitely be sure she is at least drinking...hard to tell of course unless you watch her 100% of the time. Hiding in the corner is not the best sign...I think I would take her back in or at least call. More tests? Follow up blood work? I'm so sorry.

  5. Thank you for the update. I saw your post on my Blackberry on the way home from work, but I couldn't add a comment. I'm glad you called the vet and that they said they aren't worried - that is definitely reassuring. And listen, I WANT to be here for you for everything, not just IF, because IF is (like it or not) related to everything in our lives. And I think we IF-ers tend to fall for our pets that much harder because we have a lot of love and nurturing to give. I can certainly relate to that. I hope you will continue to provide updates on your cat. I think about you both often and hope she is doing much much better tomorrow. XOXOXO

  6. Glad to hear the vet isn't worried - I am totally into your cat saga so my vote is to go ahead and post cat stuff if you feel so moved!

Hang in there - hopefully tomorrow will bring a happier kitty.

  7. Hey -- what a tough week. It feels reassuring that the vet isn't worried, but it still sounds really, really stressful and scary and hard. I hope miss kitty gets firmly on the road to recovery soon. And that your teeth remain fixed; and that your back gets better; and that Cornell calls tomorrow with your cycle info and it starts soon; and the play is a success. Have you noticed: you have a lot going on sister! Deep breath---you can do it. Love to you,
    Elizabeth
