Comfort zone

So here's an odd thing. I have no idea what to do now. I don't know anything. I feel like I have a PhD in infertility but upon graduation realised it didn't prepare me for pregnancy! I have no idea how pregnant I am. I look at other women's posts that cycled around this time and they have the weeks and days up there. How do I work it out!! I am 9dp5dt that is all I know.

I keep thinking - did I dream it? Did I think all this but in reality I am still in limbo, waiting for a beta, or a scan, or an injection or a pill, or an appointment with yet another doctor. I am very aware of my history of multiple m/c so I consider myself limbo pregnant at the moment. I know I am anxious because I have the nails of a teenage boy. I am not a nail biter and my hands could do a Mou.ntain De.w commercial.

However, we decided to celebrate tonight with a milkshake (whoopee we are HOG WILD) and then take it one day at a time. Celebrate with a milkshake! I swear, I used to be interesting. And, I have found a prenatal health group near work which looks terrific for when the time is right. The program is yoga, nutrition, prenatal classes and pre/post birthing support (which given we have no family that can help us out might make sense).

DH was very sweet when he saw the print out of our polka dot. He got such a soft look on his face. He stared at it for ages and then at me with tears in his eyes. He is a bit dreamy now and going to be late for work if he doesn't hustle!

Wow, its Christmas Eve and we have a polka dot.

  2. I'm so happy for you. Sharing it wih your husband is such a special moment. I don't think you have to buy him a christmas present this year.

  3. Well, if I remember correctly, I think you're currently at 3 or 4 weeks of pregnancy (the first two weeks happened outside your body in the miracle of pregnancy weeks calculations! :)

I'm so happy for you and you two are going to be the cutest expectant couple - I can see it already!

  4. My recollection is that ovulation is retrieval day - and the docs calculate day one as the first day of your last period, which in our perfect IVF world occurs exactly 14 days prior. This means, my lucky girl, that you are already 28 days preggo - 4 weeks along!

I know exactly what you mean about the limbo business, but for now live it up! I am jealous of your cool prenatal health group - well, and of course the fact that you are elegible to use it! But help after the babe(s) come would be FABULOUS.

  5. My calculations agree with Jill's - I think that as of TODAY you are precisely 4w0d pregnant. And look at you, just a "boring" mom, celebrating with a milkshake! Sounds wonderful to me. There will likely be lots of limbo moments between doctor visits, u/s's and HGC levels. That's sort of the nature of early pregnancy for IF'ers. But I just know everything will be okay for your precious little polka dot. And I think your DH's response was incredibly sweet. Merry Christmas, EB!

  6. oh EB, I hope that you get real comfortable in the whole pregnancy zone soon and in your own time. It's hard being "head of the class" in IF and then being back in kindergarten with the whole pregnancy thing. When I was getting ready for my TWW I had to do my research too as I have had so few of them ( during 2 yrs of trying) that I really didn't know what to do. You will get there:)
    Your hubby sounds adorable:)
