morning sickness weekend

oh Blak! BLAK!!

Any remedies? Any ideas?

  1. I can only say I tried all of the usual remedies but the only thing that really helped was Zofran. A medication your doctor can prescribe and is totally safe for you and babies. Best thing is to keep it on the night stand and let it dissolve under your tongue 10 minutes before you get out of bed. It was a life saver for me and allowed me to be normal again and function at work.

  3. WHat seems to help alleviate the sickness for me is water with lemon, club soda with lemon and bread/ I've been eating muffins, bagels, etc. the only thing that doesn't make me yack. Also, try ginger capsules. Whole Foods, Wegmans and any natural food store will have them. Pure ginger in caplet form really soothe the stomach. good luck!

  4. Ginger ale - must actually HAVE ginger in it - send DH to the natural foods area or a special grocery.

    Sometime those sea-sickness bands help but not for the heavy duty stuff.

    When I had the first m/c I was SUPER nausiated, more than ever before and they gave me suppositories (which are gross but I did not care) Promethagan - it is prescription and it was great. Ask your doc to phone it in, although check to make sure that one is safe for baby. I think it was.

    Hang in there hon, I SWEAR you think it will never end but it does!

  5. Salty biscuits and lemonade, that's what got me through. And munching something every couple of hours, even though eating is very yucky.

  6. Gawd I wish I had the remedy. Believe me. And yes, Zo.fran is probably the biggest savior if you can't keep anything down. In my case, it minimized the number of times I threw up, didn't completely take it away. And at 23 weeks, I'm still on it, though I've been able to cut my dose in half. I take one in the morning before I get out of bed. Let it dissolve and then have something to eat that is by my bedside. Then I get up. Take it as a good sign though. I never had to rent one of those doppler heart monitors because I had the sickness to fall back on as a sign everything was ok. :) Oh, and I take Phener.gen at night only for nausea. It makes me sleepy, which is a bonus.

  7. I've heard that ginger can help. The product called Preggie Pops have ginger in them and are supposed to be helpful. I hope you find something that works!
