Retreat!!!!!!

These kids can keep the damn things! For now, we have beaten a hasty retreat on the passifiers - the binky's are in.

Breast feeding Question. Pumpers - how much did you get and how often did you pump?

  1. In the beginning (first 3 months) I pumped every 3 hours (with a few exceptions) and I only got about an ounce each time, mostly from one side. My body sucks. Hope you're doing better than me!

  2. When I was back to work, (11 weeks) I BF'd once or twice in the morning, then pumped 3 times a day at work - 1st thing in the morning, lunch time. late afternoon. Then I would BF her when I got home and before her bed (around 7-8), then pump again before my bed (10-11). So 4 pumps total. I got the most in the first pump of the morning. maybe 3-5 oz total in the beginning, and then as much as 10-15 oz total after a few months of pumping. As the day would go on, I'd get less and less with each pump. So that morning pump was my gold mine!

  3. I pump about 4 times per day and get anywhere from 2.5 to 4 ounces per pump. However, I supplement my supply with Mother's Milk Tea and also domperidone. Wish I could produce more as bm is the only thing that doesn't upset the babies' sensitive tummies.

  4. I was so lucky, I only had to pump for "fun" - since I was able to stay home with D. I think I usually pumped once or twice a day (later only once for sure) and I think I usually got 3-5 oz (later, not at the beginning). We used this for when I went to rehearsal and DH fed the boy. Good luck hon!

  5. Don't feel bad about the pacifiers. My son had GERD until he was 20 months old and the ped and specialist both recommended it for him b/c the swallowing action helps keep the food down. He gave up the pacifier on his own at 6 months and I tried to get him to accept it but he was done with it.

  6. As far as the passies go, if it makes you feel any better, the "experts" say that having a passey in while sleeping helps reduce the incidence of SIDS (probably because of the suck/breathe reflex).

I don't pump anymore. I used to. Most volume first thing in the morning. Always crappy on one side. Best I ever achieved was 4 oz on right, 2 oz on left.
