6 months to holiday- ideas needed

Well, my dad turned 80 this year. It seems so old to me - I see him as a middle aged guy. Instead of trying to get over in these dark winter months we have all agreed to go over in the summer (June to be precise).

All the family and nr family will be there. We've hired a farmhouse and its cottages for a week nr the sea. I am totally psyched.

There is even an indoor pool which given the crap weather is a great thing.

And I am enormous.

So, here we go again. Weigh.tWatchers and exercise.  I have my resolve - bathing suit. I have my memberships (cheap gym and ww). I also have a bad knee  - I think I have damaged my ACL.

This means no running.

Anyone got any thoughts or experience about exercising when

a) no time
b) bad knee

My pledge is 30 pounds. Might not get there by June but will keep going till I do.

  1. Your holiday plans sound wonderful!

Well, let's see...the "no knee" thing is the hardest since aerobics burns calories. How about swimming? Of course swimming totally defies the "no time" limitation. I think if I were you, I'd shoot for reducing my intake. Hello salad and basalmic. Hello baked chicken. Maybe someone else will have a better exercise idea for you.

  2. I love the calorie counting apps that weight watchers has, also like to use the ones that have bar code readers like myfitnesspal that lets you scan packaged things. For exercise I would do try a good recorded DVD, try looking at the ones available from your cable provider, most have some available from the one demand section. Those you could do at home while your babes are asleep. If you can manage the time perhaps a water aerobics class would be helpful.
